Glen Murray(Biography)
Glen is the executive director of the Pembina Institute, Canada’s leading energy think tank. Prior to joining the Institute, Glen was an Ontario cabinet minister, and oversaw several portfolios, including transportation; training, colleges, and universities; research and innovation, and most recently, environment and climate change. In his role as environment minister, Glen led the development and implementation of the cap-and-trade system, and extended producer responsibility in Ontario. His work was foundational to the creation of the Quebec-Ontario-California carbon market. Glen has held a number of leadership roles, including serving as mayor of Winnipeg from 1998-2004, and was chair of the Big City Mayors’ Caucus. During his time as mayor, he led the successful fight to transfer the five cents/litre federal gas tax to municipalities. He also served as chair of the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy, under Prime Ministers Harper and Martin. Glen was also president and CEO of the Canadian Urban Institute.

Gordon Huang(Biography)
Dr. Gordon Huang is a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Energy and Environment, and Executive Director of the Institute for Energy, Environment and Sustainable Communities at the University of Regina, Canada. He holds BSC from Peking University (China), MSc from Simon Fraser University (Canada) and PhD from McMaster University (Canada). Since the 1990s, Huang has led over 150 environment-related research projects, produced over 900 peer-refereed international journal papers (with an SCI-based H-index of 60 in Science Citation Index under Thomson Reuters' Web of Science), and supervised over 100 Master/PhD students. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and the President of the International Society for Environmental Information Sciences. He also acts (or acted) as editor-in-chief for 2 international journals and editorial board member for over 10 journals, and was conference chair or keynote speaker at over 40 international events. He has also served the United Nations Development Programme as Chief Scientist for its Program of Rural Water Resources Management and Drinking Water Safety.

A. Ivlev has completed his PhD (1968) at the age of 27 years from Chemical Technology Institute of Mendeleyev (Moscow) and completed his postdoctoral studies from Institute of Chemical Physics of Russian Academy of Sciences and got his 2-nd PhD (1986). In 1995 he became a full Professor of Russian State Agrarian University. He has published more than 100 papers in the reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member of 4 of them. He is an author of 4 scientific monographs and of 2 discoveries. He was awarded by the medal of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences “To Author of Scientific Discoveryâ€.

Peter Novak completed his PhD degree in Technical Sciences, University of Belgrade in 1975. He was Professor for HVAC, Renewable Energy and Environment and Dean at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana. He is Professor Emeritus of Faculty for Technology and Systems, Novo Mesto. He is the Owner of consultant company, Energotech. At present, he is involved in preparation of energy concept of Slovenia for Slovenian government. He is associated with ASHRAE (Fellow and Life Member). In the International Institute of Refrigeration, he served eight years as President of Commission E1 for Air Conditioning (now Honorary Member of IIR) and past-Vice Chairman of Scientific Committee at European Environmental Agency, Copenhagen (2012-2016). He is also Honorary Member of REHVA, SLOSE, and SITHOK. More than twelve years, he served as Member of Environmental Council of Slovenia.

Psychologist and Environmental Consultant. He completed doctoral studies in the Department of Personality, Evaluation and Psychological Treatment of the UNED. Chief of Brigade in a Forest Fire Service with more than 20 years of experience. He collaborates with several companies and institutions in the area of training in Psychology in Emergencies and Human Resources. He is Professor at the University of Valencia in the Master in "Intervention and operational coordination in emergencies and catastrophes" and other postgraduate courses on emergencies. Director and President of the International Scientific-Professional Committee of the National Symposium on Forest Fires (SINIF). He has lectured internationally and has been part of the Organizing Committee of several International Congresses on Earth Sciences and Climate Change. He has published articles on forest fires, stress, psychosocial risks and emotional trauma, mainly in relation to emergency services and natural disasters. Currently, he is assigned to the Research Group on "Climate and Territorial Planning" (University of Alicante), where he researches on the social perception of forest fire risk and behavior in the event of possible disasters.

: Professor Akgün received his Bachelor’s degree from the Middle East Technical University (METU), Department of Geological Engineering in 1981 and his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Arizona, Department of Geological Engineering in 1986 and 1990, respectively. Professor Akgün is a faculty member at the Middle East Technical University (METU), Department of Geological Engineering, Ankara, Turkey since 1995 and Associate Editors of The Journal of Solid Waste Technology & Management and Environmental Geosciences journal. He was employed as a Senior Design Associate at Environtech Consultants, Inc., Boca Raton, Florida, during 1990-1992 and, as a Senior Geotechnical/Geo-environmental Engineer at Geotech, Inc., Maple Shade, New Jersey during 1993-1995 before becoming a faculty member at METU. He is a Registered Professional Engineer with specializations in engineering geology and geotechnical engineering. Yosef Jabareen(Biography)
Yosef Jabareen received his Ph.D. in Urban Planning from the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning at Technion, Israel and earned a Masters in Design Studies at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. He was a Krietman Fellow at Ben Gurion University and Rothschild Fellow. He received the Tami Steinmetz Award for Peace Research at Tel Aviv University. At MIT, his research focuses on efforts to create trust among different ethnic communities.

Ahmed Masoud had his Ph.D degree at the age of 32 years old from Humboldt University (Berlin) and then earned a professorship in 1987 at the age of forty. 1988 he holds a state Prize in the field of Environmental Science. He was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Tanta University from 2002- 2006, and Dean of the College of Agriculture, University of Kafr El-Sheikh from 2006 -2007. From 2007 until now he is a Professor Emeritus and he has more than 40 papers in the field of Chemistry and Toxicology of pesticides and Supervised more than 30 Master and Ph.D. In 2006 he was a visiting Professor of the University of Hohen Heim, Germany. Rachel Suissa has completed his PhD in 2006 at the University of Haifa years and conducted her post-doctoral studies at the Technion- Israel Institute of technology, Industrial Engineering Department. She is a teaching associate at the National Security Program and a senior research fellow at the Haifa Center for German and European Studies. Her research interests encompass Security Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Studies.
